Guest guest
Hi Everyone If you live in the US and your child was diagnosed later in life (after being a newborn) and maybe your child was dealing with medical or developmental delays and you didn't know why, I would really like to talk with you! Mystery Diagnosis from the Discovery Channel is doing a casting call for their 6th season. They wanted to do a show on our story a few years ago and everything was lined up until they talked to our diagnosing doctor! Unfortunately, I had some bad history with this doctor and she was not very receptive to the casting crew. (probably remembered the lawsuit threat I gave her lol) Anyway... Your story needs to be compelling. You will be considered if your child had health or developmental problems that were unexplainable. Maybe you had to fight with the doctors to get the diagnosis? Whatever it is I have included the information below on how to contact the casting crew. It would be great publicity for us to get info out there about MDS! If you send an email, be sure to be detailed as possible about your situation and be sure to include that MDS is rare and why it is so hard to discover. (ie: lack of physical characteristics, not enough cells tested, lack of typical Ds delays, lack of physician knowledge, etc) Good Luck and let us know if you submit something! Each episode tells the stories of people who suffered with ailments that, because of their rarity, complexity or similarity to other illnesses, went undiagnosed for months or years before a physician could unravel the clues and nail down an accurate diagnosis. Please send an email to MysteryDiagnosisCasting@... and indicate what your illness is, what state you reside in and the location of your diagnosing doctor, and tell us how your life is different now that you have been diagnosed. (Please note that the producers are not doctors and can not diagnose you)
