Guest guest
The only problem I've had with Hashimoto's is an elevated heart rate it ranges between 90 and 235 I do have HBP but it's for the most part controlled unless I get upset then it skyrockets. To: Thyroiditis Sent: Saturday, April 28, 2012 5:01 PM Subject: blood pressure and hashis maybe I have an emergency appt on Monday to see my GP as I cannot get to see the Endocrinologist until June, so.. I am new to the idea of Hashi's but have experienced issues for years.. Now that they see the thyroid is is so swollen, they are somewhat listening. About 10 days ago I was on my lowest, sleeping all day and night, and still not feeling human! My poor kids! Then this past week felt it going higher, but headaches galore, and my BP rose also big time! I had to take more BP medications! Can some give some feedback. IS this normal?? Guest guest
I had the opposite problem (I have hashimotos) my blood pressure is chronically low. That became a problem before they had my medication fully adjusted and was a problem before I was diagnosed. I would feel dizzy and weak and going to pass out frequently. I don't know if low blood pressure with hashis is a solid symptom everyone gets or is one of those that only some have but your thyroid does impact your blood pressure. If you are on blood pressure medications those can have an impact on your ability to feel right. My mom (who doesnt have thyroid issues) has high blood pressure problems and when they have been trying to get her medication right really impacts her ability to feel right. She had a cardiac episode and one of the main things the doctor wanted to check was her thyroid. That was fine. I have an emergency appt on Monday to see my GP as I cannot get to see the Endocrinologist until June, so.. I am new to the idea of Hashi's but have experienced issues for years.. Guest guest
hi nancy, i have had chronically low blood pressure since i was a child. i remember getting up in the morning and trying to get ready for school and having to lie down several times to keep from blacking out, before i could continue. in my 30s, a friend with a bp cuff stayed over one night and took my pressure in the a.m. that's when i realized that the blackouts were from my low blood pressure. i needed to eat saltines or anything salty before getting up in the a.m. i have had so many symptoms of hashis since a young age, but had no idea why. docs wouldn't listen and my regular thyroid tests were always normal. not until i got adrenal insuffiecincy from kenalog injection overdose, did i insist there must be another test to be done. that's when i saw an elevated TPO, but wasn't told what it meant. that was in 2006 and i am just now realizing i have had hashis. i had to figure it out myself and then drag it out of the endo. like pulling teeth! my mom had high blood pressure and her mom before her also. neither had a thyroid problem that i'm aware of. lois > > > ** > > > > > > I have an emergency appt on Monday to see my GP as I cannot get to see the > > Endocrinologist until June, so..
