To all: Side effects

I am fairly new to this blog and I was wanting to understand the different types

of side effects that people have experienced. My 9 year old daughter has been

on this for a number of years and I cannot seem to get her off. Every time I

try she has major problems. She has had some different weird things happen over

the course of her treatment and I was wondering if anyone had a list of all the

different side effects that others had experienced.

Our daughter developed anxiety, OCD, hair loss,rash,increased fatigue and muscle weakness, pancreas issues, increased her autonomic disorder symptoms.. She was fine on it for the first 3-4 months and then started developing symptoms. No ONE thought it was the miralax(I asked every Dr. and specialist and they all said perfectly safe for peds.)- she has a neuro muscular disorder and the Drs. all felt it was the muscular disorder getting worse- I knew she had allergies and just did not believe that symptoms would all set in so fast and differently then we had seen(she was 16).. I started googling Miralax and about flipped my lid! Literally within 72 hours of stopping the miralax her rash(all over her legs and spreading to her

torso(have pics)for 3 months) was almost gone, the anxiety was gone.. and now a couple months later the only time the OCD flares is if she is over tired or eats something she is allergic to..I think about all the little ones who are non verbal, or who have Mitochondrial disease like my daughter and wonder how many are getting worse because of Miralax? It is so commonly recommended in these populations and the symptoms of the miralax poisoning are often similar to whatever disease process made the Dr. recommend the Miralax in the first place..We have been using blackstrap

molasses (unsulfered) prunes, increased fluids, eliminated all allergens(she has a ton!) and she has been going regularly-(every 2 days) but she is older(17 now) and as anxious to heal from the miralax nightmare as I am- so she is willing to make the dietary changes no problem. We make a Molasses "brownie" that I load with molasses,prunes,ginger and she seems to respond well enough. She is also allergic to dairy,corn,soy and more. We have slowly increased fiber- she has a hard time with fiber- too much it will block things and/or can cause a week long episode of mal absorption- We have seen daily improvement in the past 8 weeks and many of the symptoms that started with miralax are fading away.
