Dr Marinkovich gave great advice on this.  when you get a bad reaction to the

meds. Don't take for 1 to 2 days.  Slowly work your way up to full dose.

Example, Ketaconzole nasal spray usually makes your migraines worse. skip a day

and instead of 2 sprays take one spray to start out with.  It took me over a

month to get on full strength.      Think of it this way, if it hurts you know

your killing something.   This is the only time when you can say NO PAIN NO

GAIN.  Die off is a bitch.  I recommend ice for all pain and any type of muscle

relaxer you can get your hands on.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to lessen the effects of this?

I have been in bed for

days and feel like I am dying.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Physician's office is no help.

Please post if you have suggestions.

Thank you very much.

My herxing experience has been from killing off Lyme and coinfections

with a non-drug approach. When we kill pathogens, they release toxins,

which need to be cleared out by the body. What helped me, and the Lyme

sufferers I know, is to keep the pathways of elimination open and

working as well as possible, and to back off on the pathogen-killing

protocol temporarily.

Some things that people say have helped: drinking enough pure water,

keeping the bowels moving often and regularly, doing what you can to

support the liver and kidneys, doing deep breathing, bathing a lot

(with a bath or shower filter, not in chlorinated tap water), using

epsom salt soaks, skin brushing, etc.

Some people take colonics or enemas, some take coffee enemas to help

the liver dump toxins. There are various supplements that can help. I

have felt better when I use far infrared sauna, which seems to help me

sweat out toxins, and also relaxes the sore, stiff muscles.

And some find that staying on the alkaline side helps. I tend to be

overly acidic. I find that raw vegetable juices improve this for me,

especially green veggies. I have cut out all caffeine drinks, all

sugar and processed grain products, and try to eat a very simple diet

of mostly vegetables and protein. That has helped.

Cutting back on the treatment that is causing the dieoff has worked for

me, too. I step back a level or two, wait until the herx is milder or

gone while I work on the detox measures listed above, and then very

gradually increase again. Some people have to increase dosage

extremely slowly.

Some herbs have helped me when I am tired, achy, and stiff, especially

turmeric. I get mine from OrganicIndia.com, which has very fresh

organic herbs. I take more than the label indicates, and it has really

helped me.

If you join LymeStrategies at , you will find a lot of

information about dealing with herxes.

Muscle relaxer, check.  Slowing down to 1 pil rather than two, check.  Eye balls

popping out and brain exploding, check.  lol  I hear ya loud and clear on this

one. I could tell just after the first dose I had majorly interupted somethings

good day inside of me.

Advice well taken, thanks

I think I may be experiencing the same thing this week - though I keep

wondering if it is die off or exposure from somewhere new. Is absolute

complete, wiped out fatigue (unable to get out of bed for days)

typical of die off? I've also had nausea and diarrhea for over 10 days

and prior to my mold expsosure and even in the months afterwards

basically had a stomach of steel. I've also had stuffed up ears for

weeks - though that just normalized - due to drainage or sinuses, not

sure. Some of these symptoms are new so wondering if it is die off?

By accident, I only took 3 doses of CSM yesterday and today I feel better.

Today, I cut back

to 2 doses and I will see how I feel tomorros.

I am actually walking! Haven't done that in weeks. I have steadily watched

myself getting

worse and worse.

Today, I got out of the house and was really proud of myself that I could walk

at all.

I am seeing everyone suggesting to cut back, then gradually work up to full

dose. I am so

medication sensitive that I think that may help me tremendously.

I don't think ice is a good idea because my feet feel cold and they hurt worse

when they

are cold.

I can't thank the group enough. Please keep the suggestions coming. I feel

today like I am

coming back to life again a little!

If you're herxing from antibiotics for Lyme, Singular (antihistamine)

helps quite a bit.

I just found out that I have lyme (through IgeneX testing) and

possibly bartonella (lyme co-infection) and am on Zithromax.

Singular definitely helps...
