So glad to find this group! Already found some great info from you all.

After a high CRP inflammation reading my doc ran an ANA titer due to my fatigue

and sun rashes thinking Lupus and the ANA was a high positive. I was referred

to a Rheumatologist who ran a comprehensive antibodies and immune system set of

blood work and the only antibodies that came back positive were TPO 174. I

originally thought I had thyroid hypo symptoms and my sister was diagnosed

around my age with Grave's, but doc thought TSH was normal.

A Lupus Dermatologist also stated I had no clinical signs of Lupus,

Scleroderma, Or MCTD, just Roscea. I was referred to a Endocrinologist who ran

an ultrasound and found a just under 1cm nodule on my thyroid and a TSH of 3.0

with clinical symptoms he started me on generic Synthroid very low dose. DX

Hashimoto's.

I feel so much better! Actually have energy that I have not in years! I am

shedding extra amounts of hair and now have acne on my chin (but also eating

more sweets than usual-holidays!). My monthly cycle changed from 27 days to 24,

with bad emotional PMS this month (first month of med). Also I have had some

borderline glucose readings 101-106 and this last was 111. Does Synthroid

affect blood sugars and if so how? Also I do get some anxiety at times can you

take natural supplements such as ashwaganda with the Synthroid? I see my endo

24 Jan.

I have lost 14 lbs by cutting back portions and eating more veggies and fruits

and I am under the 25 BMI now. I need to start exercising now that I have some

energy and I am worried about getting Type II diabetes which runs in my family

and hope this med does not increase the chances! Kristal
