Guest guest
I apologize...I do not want to continue this " terminology " discussion and take up the boards time.... I think its important to make sure you understand what your doctor is sending you for and that you understand the test and what they will be doing. That is why I sent out my original post. Remember they also tilt the table in the upper barium test...and I found it quite uncomfortable....(I had this scheduling called it a barium swallow) For my upper GI...which they did not call an " endoscopy " and was not like my husbands endoscopy where he actually had to go through all presurgical testing etc...and we were on the surgical wing... I woke during my " upper gi " I guess the versid wore off and they were doing horrible things to my neck so that was why I sent out the warning...many of us are not supposed to have any of this done to our necks and this can be serious!!! Also in what they called my lower GI...which I call a colonoscopy...I can never have a regular one now because there is too much chance of a rupture due to my severe EDS...this does not mean that most of you would have this issue...the other issue is for those of us that need fiberoptic intubation...they need to have this available in case something " rarely " would go wrong with the colonoscopy... This was originally sent out as an informative warning...not a long discussion and back and forth about terminology...and I apologize.
