I had never had chicken pox, and when I was 32 my dad got shingles, and I actually caught chicken pox from him. I had no idea shingles could be contagious. As you know, that virus can remain dormant without someone showing visible signs of having it; so I would think that it's entirely possible that your child contracted the virus from you, but it may not have presented as outright chicken pox (rash, etc.), but could be casuing his symptons. Seems to me that a trial of some type of anti-viral or vitamin A high dose protocol (although vit A may just target measles; not sure if it would target rubella) or something would be in order. It's true that Stan Kurtz's son did not test positive for viruses. Do you have a DAN who can advise you? Hello. This is a two-part post. First, I just realized to my horror that I had terrible shingles when my, now 2-yer old son, was 10 months old--right before the regression and stimming began. Is this just a terrible coincidence? According to his titers he is immune to Herpes Zoster, Herpes I and II (but Stan's child was also immune accroding to the tests, right?). However, he has 500 times the amount of antigens to Rubella than he should have. I believe I took Valtrex to clear up these shingles (which I suspect have come back after a year's time). I called our DAN doctor and our homeopath and neither one of them thought much about this. It seems like it's an important piece to me. I would really appreciate any feedback here. Also, for those of you who have had success working with Valtrex, were your children's gut issues totally better before trying it? Yeast? Clostridia? Secondly, I am very interested in learning more about Dr. Goldberg. I would be interested in learning more about what he does and his recovery rate. We live in the Midwest and it's a long trip to CA, but we'll do it if I can learn more about him. Are there any doctors like him in the Midwest? Thank you for your help. Guest guest
This is my first time posting, so I hope I am doing this right. I have herpes zoster that flares up frequently. We have just discovered that we think my son is a virus kid. He tested negative for measles titers despite vaccination - he is chronically ill with a cold. We are considering Valtrex after great success with the high dose Vit A treatment. He had a HUGE leap the week following the treatment, only to get sick again and have a huge regression. With this latest virus, he has literally lost language, articulation and started tantrumming again. I have often wondered if he was exposed to the herpes virus from me. He also tested positive for past exposure to CMV. I am not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions? Guest guest
Have you tried Lysine for your herpes? I used to get a cold sore on my lip at least every 3 months and I haven't had even one in the last year since I started on Lysine. I got mine at Henry's, I think it's called SuperLysine with Garlic, or something like that. It worked like a charm!! Good luck. Sandy > > > > > > > Hello. This is a two-part post.
