Guest guest
Our 2 1/2 y/o has started saying words to me over and over (in a comical tone with a big smile on her face) until I say it back to her. Could this be from yeast die off? She started her first antifungal exactly 2 weeks ago (ketoconazole). (She hasn't really had any other noticable changes since she started it) She does this several times a day. She's never really had issues with echolalia before but I've heard that die off presents it self as the child acting " more autistic " (our DAN's words). She has also started staring at her hands and mine in the past week. Just curious. Those of you who's children do this, did you repeat it back to them or ignore? I have been trying to get her to use a full sentence and say " Mommy will you say the word? " ...just to help her practice. Anyway, it is driving me crazy and I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks
Guest guest
Yes, My son did this alot. His doc told me it was sensory issue. Auditory processing. Mine quit doing it when we repeatedly said what he was saying. It's like he had to know that he was being heard and the onley way for him to understand was to say what he said back to him. He then would calm down.He didn't change with antifungal meds or anything. This just may be something that she is going through sensory wise or age approprate and nothing to so with meds. Just my guess Subject: What could this be? And what should I do? Guest guest
Hi , I have a similar question for the list... My 5 yo autistic son has been taking Nizoral 200mg and Candex 2 caps daily for yeast for 6 months. The yeast was well under control after we finished 80 HBOTs on 30 Sept 08. He was going to sleep quickly, and sleeping sounding for 10 or more hours. We started on the Valtrex 500 mg 2x daily 18 days ago. Gains include better eye contact and improved coordination (walking backwards while outside playing today). But, the last two days he has not been sleeping (until after 3 a.m.). Does anyone know what is going on!? Is it because yeast is getting out of control? If so, should we ride it out? I read in one of Stan 's earlier posts that diet can be a factor. We have not had problems with rice before, but we did give him some last night. He is GF/CF. Thanks, --penumbra > > Our 2 1/2 y/o has started saying words to me over and over (in a > comical tone with a big smile on her face) until I say it back to her. > > Could this be from yeast die off?
