Guest guest
I will so pray for you. I have just been reminded how no one in my family understands and I am giving up myself. I have just hit bottom and so i can tell you that despite what i am tiold there are others who understand what you are experiencing is more real than breath itself and I am with you in spirit. I can say no more as I have now learned words thoughts and feelings are poison. I will indeed pray for you right now. Date: Monday, July 28, 2008, 1:59 AM Hi all, Ever since Toxic Mold got into my brain and caused toxic encephalitis (brain swelling) and the resulting brain damage it seems like ive been such a negative person and am quick to anger and easily irritated and just all around miserable. My question is for those of you that had or have some type of brain damage or encephalitis from mold exposure have this same type of change in moods and or behavior happen to you as well? And for all who read this please say a little prayer for me that atleast i can regain my Joy in life. Thanks all!! Elias
Guest guest
YES, I am quick to anger, don't laugh, worry constantly, and easily fatigued but don't have all the other symptoms I did while in my moldy school. I used to have endless energy, happy, and loved life. Now I feel empty, almost without any feelings at all except I do cry easily. Guest guest
I hear you both loud and clear. dont give up, dont let it drag you down. understanding that you dont have control over this helps. keep talking to family even if they seem death. send them info. on the subject and tell them to read it. try to remind yourself daily that it's not their fault that this illness is not reaconized and they dont get it. put the blame where it belongs, we all know where that is. pay close attention to mood changes as alot of it has to do with exposures to chemicals and things you might not even realize. a whiff of perfume can turn my mood like a switch. remember it's part of the brain damage. with me, the kevel of sinus damage I suffered makes a easy path for immedite brain responces from many things. washing your sinuses well help stop on slow down some brain effects. hang in there, your not alone. Guest guest
First of all, Elias, I pray for your quick healing. The brain lesions and edema do go away with time. I never experienced a change in mood or temperament. I'm still the same miserable person I was before. LOL. Barth ---
Guest guest
Its a NATURAL reaction to losing everything you hold dear. When you get your life, job, family, health, relationship, income, home, etc. back, you probably will feel much better. Unfortunately, nobody can give you time back. Do you think a five or six year " hole " in a resume will hurt your career and job prospects? How do you recovered people answer the question " What have you been doing the last five years " , in job interviews? How much money have you invested in getting well? In buying new posessions to replace the ones you had to 'discard'? What about money invested in schooling, job training, etc. Do you think that was moey well spent, given how you got sick and couldn't use it? Guest guest
I had the same reactions and also had other cognitive problems including memory loss, concentration problems, severe anxiety, etc. The depression and anger were very severe (VERY SEVERE). I tried many different things to try to improve, including natural supplements, sweating it out, prescription medications, and the old standys--- " just tough it out " and " snap out of it. " Nothing helped. I finally found something that helped--Lamisil (a prescription antifungal). I had taken Sporanox (another antifungal) previously, but it didn't do anything, so I was very surprised that Lamisil worked. My cognitive problems improved--especially my anger, anxiety and concentration. It seems that each of us has to find an approach that works for our individual circumstances. I assume it's because we are each exposed to different molds and different toxins. If you decide to try Lamisil, be sure to give it a chance to work for at least a couple months. Hope this helps. I have been sick for about 1 year and am going thru the usual...WC,(actually just got back from Comp Atty) SSD,LTD and still trying to get someone other than the ENT to admit to more than just mold in sinuses. That is whereit started, since then I have had several FUNGAL!!! UTI and most recent GI Candida albicans and Candida dubliniensis (simular to C albicans only mostly seen in immuno compromised like Aids, HIV and I am here to tell SBS!) Yet not enough " scientific/medical eviedence " to support a connection to the water damaged Managers Aparmtent nor the hotel office below. Anyway back to the point I am now on Zoloft cause it helps with the anxiety, gi and meno stuff. Thank God i am now married to a very loving, understanding aand patient man with a homeopathic bacground! I know i ut him yhru hell and he understands it is the illness but it still hurts and is frustrating. I think that is part of it...i am not the person i have known all my life. you all know can't talk, cant remeber a simple conversation yoiu had 2 minuts ago, cant move cant sleep, cant go anywhere or do anything (much) cause it wipes you out...........anyway I have tried accupuncture for anger (thank god we have friend in this) it helped could use another round at least once a month! Also My husband Pat is a Feldenkrais Practionor (wwww.feldenkrais.com)that helps with my pain amanagement and when i can i do some excercises known as awarement thru movement lessons they help me to move better, he also practises BACH Flower Remiedies and we are always tring different flower essescenes. They actually premake 2 Serenity Now which calms you down and helps to relax and Rescue Remedy which works almost in the same way. I use that when I have had a very emotional expereince (like yesterday when at and my son in law threw away alot of my personal belongings that are contaminated and have been held up in the garage) WHEN I HAVE HAD A VERY BAD PAIN EXPERIENCE, NIGHTMARES OR i HAVE A REALLY BAD DY SYMTOM WISE. yOU CAN RESEARCH ANY OF THESE IT DOSENT CURE YOU BUT HELPS ME TO DEAL. AS YOU CAN TELL I AM VERY TIRED BY MY TYPING. i AM GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE INFO AND SUPPORT I NGET FROM ALL OF YOU. i HAVE BEEN A GROUP MEMBER SINCE ABOUT NOV 07 BUT HAVE NOT POSTED MUCH AS i WAS STILL A NEWBIE JUST LEARNING AND EDUCATING MY SELF AND HAVE BEEN PRETTY ILL AND MOSTLY BED RIDDEN IT SEEMS IT IS ONLY NOW I CAN DO THIS FROM BED...HELLO ETHERNET CORD!!!ATMs) pLUS I AM GOING AND HAVE BEEN THRU ALL THE POST I HAVE SAVED FROM THE BEGINNING TRYING TO PREPARE MYSELF AND EDUCATE LAWYER AT SAME TIME FOR UPCOMING WC PREHEARING. Guest guest
Hi , You know, i had that same thought. I tried sporonox and diflucan but it didnt help me at all. But when i tried Lamisil it seemed to work wonders for me. But i only had a 7 day supply. Do you have insurance? I dont and its soo expensive. Thanks for the input. I will have to pray for that as well. I have had severe anxiety as well. Forgot to mention that part. Well i will say a prayer for you.. Thanks Bud Elias From: <brianc8452@...> Subject: Re: [] Toxic Mold and depression anger question. Guest guest
, Did you use something to detox with during the time you took Lamisil, like CSM? --- In , <brianc8452@...> wrote: > >. Guest guest
It is sad beyond belief when those who say they love us just don't understand what we are going through. It does make you second guess everything. This is the most important time to bring compassion to yourself-- when no one else can or will. Don't give up, either of you. The illness is indeed real-- but somewhere inside you are still you. And that " you " is a good and rightous person. This is what I strive to re-affirm each day. You are not alone. My prayers are with you, Jac
Guest guest
Hi - I could only tolerate CSM for about a month. I am on WelChol which is awesome. It is important for me to get lots of fiber and I take millers wheat and oat bran every day for years. I always wonder if the bran I took maybe pulled out some of the toxins, as I was being exposed and made the difference in not having " leaky gut " - which Thank God I have not had. The good thing about Welchol is that it can lower both cholesterol and blood sugar, which I have to work at. And, it does not involve the liver, but, as I understand. The CSM made me have terrible reflux. I took Lamisil and felt the poison sucked out of my face and head, a little at a time. I was very careful with the liver tests and rested a lot and drank gallons of water to get it out of my system. It helped a lot. Not with the fatigue. But with the sinus pressure and breathing. That is my experience.
