Guest guest
Dodie, I was wondering the same thing about the long term depression and now this LBD. My mom has been miserable her whole life and has gone untreated. She is in serious denial. Thinks all her problems are because of everyone else. A year and a half ago she was talking suicide so the Dr prescribed anti-depressants. She wouldn't take them. Now she has just been diagnosed very recently with LBD. Prescribed Aricept which she seems to be taking but still in major denial. Every day we have to hear about the rotten people doing terrible things to her. This is a theme she has complained about her whole life. Only now the rotten people are coming in her house, stealing her food, stealing her money, drugging her and stealing her lottery check. Yes folks she is still on that one. If I don't agree with her she goes balistic and says I am on everyone else's side. I am practicing my empathy skills. " Sorry you are having these problems Mom " . We have longevity in our family and no one that I know of had any form of dementia or mental illness. Seems that if those poor neurotransmitters are not functioning properly for years there would be a consequence. LBD? Has anyone read about a correlation?
