Guest guest
Jim is home for the weekend and he is recovering from the Bronchial Pneumonia well. I will give him some TLC before I send him back to the nh on Monday and hopefully, he will be even more better by the time he goes back. It is good to have him home. I missed him last weekend when we were both sick, but I was extremely thankful that I didn't have to take care of Jim while I was feeling so sick too. It was good that I could just take care of me. In years past, I don't know what I would have done feeling that sick and having to take care of Jim too. Feeling as I was, I would not have been able to take care of Jim. It's a Godincidence that things work out the way they do for sure. This evening as I was walking out of the nursing home with Jim, the Director of Nursing approached me with a lady and introduced me. Her husband was recently dx w/LBD and since I have been training the staff at the nh about LBD for a few years and bringing awareness of the disease to the staff, she knew I could help this lady. I guess we are the only two whose LOs have a dx of LBD at the nh. I know there are more at the nh with LBD that have not been dx. I recognize the symptoms. I directed my new friend to the LBD.org site, so she can get information and join an LBDgroup. She does not have a computer, but her daughter does. Her husband was recently dx at a nearby University, so they are already off to a good start with a dx and some direction. She told me her husband had been on Risperdol.(Not sure of spelling) Isn't that one of the medications that has some negative side effects? Jim has never been on it, so I couldn't remember the side effects. Hopefully, she joins a group or her daughter does, so they can get all the answers. It's nice to have a new LBD caregiver friend at the nh to connect with. I'm sure she feels the same way. Keeping LBD awareness on the move.......................Jan ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
