Guest guest
OPP under siege from mould Paris Star - Ontario, Canada* Posted By Cate Breaugh The OPP Detachment headquarters on Mechanic Street is under siege- from mould. An air quality test carried out by the Ontario Environment and Safety Network recently yielded the information that three types of mould are present in the building's basement. The mould is not a serious threat to OPP personal. " The county did an inspection and we are waiting for a schedule from the company that was selected to remediate the situation, " OPP Detachment Commander Dave Durant told Police Services Board members last week. While the mould is being removed, files and firearms that are normally stored in the basement will have to be moved, he explained. Meanwhile, the county's OPP accommodations committee continues to work on a plan to re-house the detachment since the Mechanic Street building is too small.
