Guest guest
Neighbors: A Strange Fungus Among Us Wednesday, 30 Jul 2008 MyFox WGHP - High Point,NC* By LEAH BENO FOX8 News GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) – Something strange is flowing out of faucets in the Whitsett community. The tiny black specks showing up in sinks, bathtubs and toilets have many homeowners worried about their water's safety. " In all the homes I've lived in, " said homeowner Joe Albino, " we've never had anything like this in our lives. " He said he's noticed the problem for the past three years. Earlier this week, state environment inspectors took water samples. They said lab results confirm the foreign substance is a fungus, but don't believe it's coming from the water. The answers don't satisfy Albino and his neighbors. " We drink bottled water and at this point we are scared to even shower with water, " said Albino. Wednesday morning, state engineers took water samples from two of Albino's neighbors. Those results also came up negative. They believe it is an isolated case of airborne fungus and could come from almost anywhere.
