Guest guest
yes this is true and a good dr will know this and work with you. there is also a autism medical insurence group you can get on to help with this Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 Billing codes I keep reading about billing codes in relation to autism. I am correct that if our doctor were to order blood work and put his diagnosis on his billing sheet as autism the insurance wouldn’t pay for it but if she put the diagnosis as something else like intestinal problems, his ’s disease, constipation, and other symptoms then the insurance will be more inclined to pay for some of the tests? And does anyone know anything about Medicaid? We have private insurance but I am in the process of getting Tristan a PA ACCESS card which essentially is Medicaid as a supplemental insurance. But I am not sure exactly what they cover and don’t. Any suggestions on how to tackle this? Guest guest
Buffy, There is a National Autism Association chapter in Pennsylvania which can help you with these questions. You can join their discussion group at NAA_PA . The chapter leader is Jackie Hines and she lives in Lititz, PA. Wonderful local resource for treatment options. Our PA medical access card has paid for absolutely nothing relating to biomedical treatment, but it does cover the cost of our TSS who accompanies our son to school. So the card is worth getting for behavioral support, etc. You just won't find it paying much for biomedical treatments. Sue Billing codes I keep reading about billing codes in relation to autism. Guest guest
Hi Buffy. We recently were given a medicaid number. However, everything they told me about what was to be covered hasn't actually happened. We have gotten perscriptions covered with no problems. The doctors you go to must take medicaid, and where we live, there are no doctors that are doing anything like what is suggested on this website. My husband does appeal many of our claim over and over and has gotten some money. It is a code game and it does help when you don't use the word Autism. Best of luck to you! stacie Billing codes I keep reading about billing codes in relation to autism. Guest guest
TEFRA is a Medicaid category and before paying for bio-medical stuff, it will need to come from a Medicaid provider. In my state (Idaho), doctors here aren't too willing to go outside the standard practice. You're very lucky!
