Protecting and promoting the health, environment and well-being of

County residents and visitors.

That is the Southern Nevada Health District's mission.

A federal lawsuit says they failed to protect their own employees in

their own building and as a result, a man is dead.

I wish the poor guy had understood he had to get out no matter what. I

remember when the original six teachers in Incline Village who got

CFIDS from something in the ventilation system after the teacher's

room ventilation was worked on, one of them felt the teacher's room

smelled and it was making him sick and he moved a trailer onsite and

only would work in the trailer or the classrooms.

I just read Beth Short-Ray's Surviving Toxic Black Mold Syndrome.

She had aspergillus in her home and remediated it but then was getting

symptoms in the group practice where she worked in a brand new

building, so she insisted on having the air tested and found high

levels of stachy, and just left the practice.

I think some people just don't realize what it's doing to their systems.

Which does not let off any responsible parties its just tragic.

The description of their " leaky " roof sounds exactly like how it was

in my office (for years)..

Last week I tried contacting all my co-workers to let them know that

I belived that were in a dangerous situation. I think that many of

them were skeptical of my concern. Maybe this report will open their

eyes.
