I have no idea about the renters rights in Florida, but I do know that

cancer can be connected to mold. How long have you lived in that house?

A good website that talks about mold & cancer is www.knowthecause.com

You probably do need a lawyer, but make sure he's knowledgeable in

toxic torts and has deep pockets. He should take your case on contingent.

Very definately mold can cause cancer. Autopsies have proven this, so

you want to get out as soon as possible because there is no quick way

to remedy this and many time if there is obvious mold, there is hidden

mold that you need cooperation of landlord to find which you are not

likely to get, so you should want to vacate as soon as you can. Go to

legal aid society, they deal with renters rights and there are

published renters rights for your locality. Others here may know where

to get those. I haven't ever used them.

Although it may be hard to feel lucky right now: be glad you don't own

the property because right now you would have a very hard time getting

rid of it. You are in an enviable situation in that you can leave and

the mold is someone else's problem. My own house was my source of

illness.

Before leaving you may want to have apartment tested in case you need

to prove reason you are sick and not able to pay rent is due to

apartment if you want to pursue that. Whether it is cause is probably

a mix between how long you have been there and how bad mold problem is,

and if you were in good health when you moved in and can prove that.

....Im going to spend the day tommorrow at the different charieites

,

Because of this illness, many of us have finanical problems due to the

denial of these toxic exposures by workers comp. lawyers, judges,

etc., by doctors due to liability/court associated issues so we

totally get it. It's a struggle for many of us to survive, no matter

what our previous successful careers or educational background

provided us. Since you are checking out charities tomorrow, go to

Modest Needs.org.

They can help with rent, doctor bills, and other emergencies. Usually

it takes 30-45 days to fund your emergency request so if I were you I

would fill out the required documentation tomorrow. We all need to

help each other find resources in this world of strategic denial for

those made disabled by these toxins.
