Problem, some of them have blood work that comes up normal? Nobody does the Arterial blood work, and many just think the parents are crazy or have Munchhausen's so they don't pursue b/c they are ill informed on the dangers this chemical is capable of. They do however, pursue the Munchhausen's though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They even go as far as to say if you don't give this to your child, we're going to call protective Services!!!!!!!!!!!!There is no test for PEG for Humans (they have one for animal testing) (they have one for BPA though?) The protocol states it's poorly absorbed, therefore it's ruled out before you even begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Many, almost all, don't receive FDA reports to monitor any side effects upon using new drugs / chemicals in our society. Some don't get there in time due to Nurse Practicioner's telling them they're acting a certain way b/c their bowels

are working for the first time in a long time. (Therefore leaving any evidence long gone and it already reached the brain) Many medical professionals have never SEEN you child therefore upon diagnosis, they don't see anything wrong. They just see a quiet child. (lethargy) From the Nephrologist's I've spoke to, they think nothing of the oxalate crystals in the urine as oxalate is in the normal diet and they all turn their heads. It wasn't a GI or Nephrologist who found them. It was my OBGYN who helped me

read these adverse reactions and said, "this is no different from the melamine pet food scare" where the pets experienced renal failure due to the melamine in the pet food. Like I said before, we need to speak in numbers, loud and clear..............and demand something be done about this. Thank you to all who've stood behind your child and demanded answers. that it may have mixed with another compound -- cyanuric acid -- to produce crystals that may have been deadly.http://articles.cnn.com/2007-05-01/us/recall.riddle_1_pet-food-pet-deaths-melamine?_s=PM:US What is melaminehttp://www.thefreedictionary.com/melamine To: miralax Sent: Wed, May 23, 2012 1:35:08 AMSubject: Tests to confirm ethylene-glycol poisoning

The CT scan sounds very promising, because of all the reading I have done and the swelling of the brain that takes place with PEG toxicity. I have read that the two populations most effected by brain swelling are the elderly, male and female and teenage boys. The boys have brains that are the size they will be as adults, but the skulls are much smaller and have quite a bit of growth/enlarging over the next several years.Central nervous irritability is a big problem with a large brain enclosed in a small, undeveloped skull.Arterial Blood Gas:This is a blood test taken from the radial artery in the wrist or can be taken from the femoral artery. It can be rather painful, because it is not a venous stick, but deep into an artery for a blood sample. Heavy pressure for at least five minutes must be applied after the sample is taken. This would reveal a metabolic acidosis (a

documented adverse reaction reported over and over to the FDA) which would confirm something very wrong.I think it would be a definitive test, if it came back abnormal.Everything I have read talks about how the body has this incredible ability to self-correct these problems on it's own.The true dilemma is that each day the body actually 'rectifies' the poison, we go back and re-poison them!!!!The body can only fight so long and can only take so much!I get furious just thinking about how we have to convince people that this is happening! Those who should understand it the most are the reluctant ones!If it is so unbelievable, then run the tests and prove us all wrong. "Do no harm"Check for Ketones-don't know how this plays into it all, but any nurse in the hospital can check this with a urine sample over test paper easy enough

to find, no cost with immediate resultsCheck urine under the microscope for oxalate crystals-Jeannie knows about this one.The lab can easily do this!Exams

and Tests

Ethylene glycol toxicity should be suspected in anyone

who is severely ill after drinking an unknown substance, especially if they at

first appear drunk and do not have a smell of alcohol on their breath. Diagnosis of ethylene glycol toxicity is usually made

through a combination of blood, urine, and other tests such as: ·

Arterial blood gas analysis ·

CHEM-7 ·

Chest

x-ray (shows fluids in the lungs) ·

Complete

blood count (CBC) ·

CT scan (shows brain swelling) ·

EKG ·

Ethylene

glycol test ·

Ketones

- blood ·

Osmolality ·

Toxicology

screen ·

Urinalysis Tests will show increased levels of ethylene glycol,

blood chemical disturbances, and possible signs of kidney failure and muscle or

liver damage.

Hi All, Thanks so much for all of your efforts and great research!  But, please do not generalize and group Nurse Practitioners (NPs) (and MDs) as non-caring or non-concerned. Many do. I do. I'm a concerned (Family) NP and a mom who began this research for my own children and I'm trying to learn ALL I can.  Again, I appreciate all of your hard work wholeheartedly.

 Thanks again, kate

Sorry Kate, we're just telling you our experiences of how they reacted to us due to what they are reading as guidelines. It's not their fault but they're also not listening and the FDA neglected to address this issue along time ago. One must realize that there are some DEEP issues and anger as these Parents gave good reason. Picture someone taking their child, that they love, to get help and have them turn it around on the parent here....................we are not happy campers! Going forward, Please listen to the parents on here, don't take anything personal, we're just sharing our own personal stories.
