Radiation in granite countertops

The New York Times has an article today on high levels of radiation

and radon in countertops.

Apparently granite has natural radiation but lately the levels have

been getting higher and higher. The woman whose countertops were " hot "

was told to keep her pregnant daughter at least 10 feet away! What?

She had them removed the same day!

I mention this article because I, thank god, do not have granite, BUT

if I did I am sure it would have been making me quite sick. And I

never, ever would have checked the countertops!

This is something everyone in a house thats making them ill needs to

get tested!
