Guest guest
This is in Cincinnati Jeanine and I think I will see it this weekend. It will leave Sept first, going maybe to town near you? I've heard it is really very good with one of those films that surrounds you so you feel like you are in it. > > http://www.unionstation.org/bodies/about.cfm >

Guest guest
They are all unclaimed bodies. I know that sounds gross but I think better to be used as art or science than to be discarded. Some object to it but they are always used for science. This is just public but I heard it is very artfully done and has been a big hit. Lots of schools took students there. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > Where did they get the 'bodies'? >

Guest guest
having become chemically injured from cadavers....seeing a body completely prosected can be " unnverving " . from what I have been told, they are made to appear a lot less intimitating than looking at one on a dissection table. They make them appear more " lifelike " vs looking like a montage of gray, tan, etc. I think on the whole, it's a good idea to give people the opporunty to see whats under their skin. They should also show what diseases cause to the body to also look like. I think once they see what arterial plaque looks like, it will leave a lasting impression and cause people to make a more concerted effort to avoid it happening to them. I can still remembering asking my Lab TA what the hell was the peanut brittle/crap in the aorta......... Maybe they need the " non " effects of chemicals, mold etc on the body????????? Guest guest
I haven't seen Bodies Revealed but I have seen what appears to be a similar one called Body Worlds. Awesome, but can be a little mind-altering seeing our body in more detail than ever before. http://www.bodyworlds.com/en/exhibitions/current_exhibitions.ht ml Let us know about your experience. Guest guest
Sounds like an interesting exhibit. I didn't see if it is in other states. I have thought about giving my body to science. But the thought of anyone abusing it would scare me away from it. My family probably would hate the idea. The whole thought of the after life is gross but not sure that I want to be burned or any of it so, it is a thought. I am sure that with our illness donation of organs would be out. Sorry if there are those that don't like to discuss this stuff but guess we have to know where we are headed eventually.
Guest guest
I saw the Bodies exhibit twice when it was in New York City. Yes, twice because it was so mind boggling I had to take another friend to see it. It will change how you feel about your body and it will make you believe there is a god. The body is so incredibly intricate and linked in so many minute ways it cannot be an accident of nature-and I'm not even so religious! It was amazing and everyone should try to see it! Guest guest
they do show diseased bodies, and deformed bodies, stuff like that. the one where they remove the skin they use something, cant remember,to keep the vessels pliable and it acyually looks like blood pumping throughout the body, my sister sais it makes you much more aware of how many vessels and nerves we really have, even tiny hair sized vessels. > > having become chemically injured from cadavers....seeing a body completely > prosected can be " unnverving " . > > from what I have been told, they are made to appear a lot less intimitating > than looking at one on a dissection table.
