That's great. I've noticed some stores are starting to cater to people

on a budget as perhaps it is becoming such a widespread problem, what

with no health insurance also. I was in there yesterday and saw so

much clothing under 10.00. They've always been cheap but think there

prices have gone done. Costco and Sam's Clubs also have very heavily

discounted drugs and I believe to use their pharmacy dept, you don't

need to become a member!!

It was originally made for toe nail and finger nail fungus.

Terbinafine lamisil is a synthetic allylamine antifungal. It is highly

lipophilic in nature and tends to accumulate in skin, nails, and fatty tissues.

Terbinafine interferes with fungal ergosterol synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme

squalene epoxide in the fungal cell membrane.

This leads to fungal cell death by disruption of fungal membrane

function and cell wall synthesis. The oral dose is well absorbed from

the gastrointestinal tract, and is extensively distributed to the hair

follicle, nail plate and sebum-rich skin.

I have read some studies that it is being researched in combination with

sporanox for aspergillus for a synergistic effect with positive results. Also,

it it being used in place of sporanox in some resistant strains of aspergillus

with good response.

I am also reading that taking an antihistamine such as loratidine along with

sporanox will increase the anti-fungal effect of sporanox.

In a small number of patients it caused liver failure and death

(without much warning--unlike some other antifungals where you can

monitor liver function and see changes and stop taking them.) I tried

it for 3 days once. Had a great impact on my fungal symptoms but I

began to get horrible pain in my liver area. Like doubling-over pain.

I stopped. I had odd liver congestion for many months. Well, at least

my liver talked to me and warned me!
