Guest guest
Hi everyone! I am hoping you can help me. My doctor prescribed me a t3/t4 combination: 7/40 mcg of levothyroxine and I can't remember the t3 drug but it was a levo something. I would like to become pregnant soon. I am wondering a couple of questions: 1) Which brand is safest to use while you are pregnant? 2) Is it safe to use t3 while pregnant? (And yes, I am going to wait to see how my body reacts to everything and bring my numbers in a good range before I am even going to try to get pregnant!) Thanks so much for your help! Guest guest
Hi a, There is NO brand of thyroid hormone replacement, both T3 and T4, that is *better* during pregnacy. You just need to have sufficient amounts of both thyroid hormones. Use the brand that works for you. T3 is safe during pregnancy, that is, if you need it. The doses that your doctor has Rx'd is quite unusual. It is compounded strengths? Good luck, ~Bj > > Hi everyone! > > I am hoping you can help me. Guest guest
Hi! Thank you for answering my questions. That information definitely helps. Yes, it is compounded strengths. I wasn't aware that it was unusual -- in your opinion is it " bad " ? > > > > Hi everyone! > > > > I am hoping you can help me.
