Guest guest
WE WANT THAT LIST!! THAT SOUNDS LIKE A FABULOUS LIST!!After switching around for over 2.5 years, I went entirely off thyroid meds so that I could sleep without constant heart palps. Or feeling like a freight train was in my neck. My gp who treats sub-clinical hypo...but we could not find an answer for me, medication-wise. She advised me to look outside of western medicine. I went to a fellowship-trained "anti-aging doc" a few months ago, and just ended up wanting my $495 back.I'm consulting with the head pharmacist at a compounding pharmacy with a great reputation in two weeks ($150). I'll be taking with me my recent ALCAT food intolerance testing results...several chemical and a few dye sensitivities showed up on it. Alcat has been very helpful; gluten did show up mildly, along with whey and several green vegetables. Even apples.I've been reading the book WHEAT BELLY. Dr. , the author, goes broader than gluten avoidance, and advises eliminating all wheat. What could that hurt - I'm intolerant to the tapioca found it so many gluten-free mixes, anyhow! It has taken two months, but I am finally feeling some changes in the belly fat. I do believe it is breaking up!! It's nice to feel something other than deprivation. If nothing else, weight GAIN stopped. That right there is progress. I'm still looking for the elusive sweet potato pasta...Deanna Sure, BJ - that would be a great addition to our Files section. Thanks. My pharmacist couldn't even figure out if Levoxyl was gluten-free..! > I have a list of most, if not all, thyroid meds inactive ingredients. Let me know if you want it and I will look for it and post it in the files section of this group. > > Gluten may not be the only thing to consider in a thyroid drug, there is a long list of chemical coloring agents in the T4 drugs (except for the 50 mcg tablets contains NONE), the coloring agents include yellow, blue, red, and aluminum lake in most of these drugs. > > Hope this helps, > ~Bj >
