Guest guest
Here are a few items about IMEs. I agree with her that she shouldn't agree to the chemical part of the Pulmonary Function Test. I think it's called methacoline. One doctor told me that I should not have agreed to that because it violates the hippocratic oath (that a physican should do no harm to their patients). http://www.harp.org/ime.htm http://graham.main.nc.us/~bhammel/mwhore.html http://www.boston.com/business/healthcare/articles/2007/03/25/hippocritical_doct\ ors/ [] Inependent med exam A friend who is a disabled federal employee has to have an IME done. Last time they sent her to an allergist and she is classic delayed reactions person, was FORCED to have patch testing and of course, being a delayed reactor she was determined to be non-allergic to everything that her EI doc referenced. So now the feds are sending her to a pulmonary MD and she is looking for any information that she can present (verifiable) that an IME eval can not cause further injury to the patient. she plans on refusing to take the chemical that they use for PFT. Anyone help her??? She can not cite state it has to be part of the federal employees " protcol " etc.
Guest guest
Can you specify that the doctor have Environmental Illness experience before you will agree to go? Also, sub-dermal skin testing to allergen works a lot better than the older " skin prick test " . I came up negative to everything on it, but with sub-dermal testing, came up sensitive to lots of things, particularly foods that I'd been eating a lot of. (that's why the 4- day rotation diet is so important to people with chronic illness). So can your friend insist on a doctor that does sub-dermal skin testing? > > A friend who is a disabled federal employee has to have an IME done. > > Last time they sent her to an allergist and she is classic delayed reactions > person, was FORCED to have patch testing and of course, being a delayed > reactor she was determined to be non-allergic to everything that her EI doc > referenced. > > So now the feds are sending her to a pulmonary MD and she is looking for any > information that she can present (verifiable) that an IME eval can not cause > further injury to the patient. > > she plans on refusing to take the chemical that they use for PFT. > > Anyone help her???
