Being from the south I understand the humidity thing. I remember you saying you were also in a humid are which makes sence that that is the last thing you want to expose an attic too. Especially if you are going to the cost to replace the insalation I see no problem sealing that up. You have definatly done your homework and makes so much sence. I am going to pass this on to my dad as we here also have an older home, have not replaced the insalation but done just what you had done due to advice from builders. It may have been the right thing because I dont think sealing up an attic with old insalation would be safe at all. Thanks for explaining that to me though.
