Ah, it must be the 10-year anniversary of The Geek Syndrome. The Wired article by that name is what enabled me to initially self-diagnose, a little over 10 years ago. I am disappointed, though, that for the first third of the article the writer ignores those with severe autism. And I am dubious of his claim to have met "many" who were severely affected early in life, only to turn out OK later on. But from my own experience I do agree that it might be possible to accomplish much more using different approaches from those commonly used today.--
