Guest guest
Hi , When you say "this" has happened to you many times, I'm assuming you're talking about your volume of mucus increasing even after taking antibiotics, right? Anyways, what is nacetyl Cysteine? Have you taken this before? Mucinex doesn't seem to help me at all and I was wondering if nacetyl Cysteine has helped you? Does it have any side effects? Thanks for your thoughts, Cassie
Guest guest
Good morning Cassie Yes,I'm referring to mucus production even after antibiotics. NAC is a powerful antioxidant and also dilutes your mucus like Mucinex but its cheaper I get it at my health food store but I've read that you can get it in Rite aid . I can take up to 1200mg a day - I usually am on about 3-4 rounds of antibiotics a year . I take fresh acidophilus to keep the good bacteria alive and avoid dairy ( that creates mucus ) though I'll often indulge if there's a delicious Stilton around.Together with that , plenty of water to SIP, daily chest percussion on The VEST , albuterol in the microair nebulizer , weights in the other hand followed by the Acapella has kept me functioning as a more than full time teacher for 30 years. I had a lobe removed when I was 28 and the doctors said I'd never work again I've since moved to another country from the UK to USA , divorced , created a new career and travelled to Thailand and Italy and regularly to the UK After all these years of maintenance its still First things first clean your lungs daily and breathe deep like a bellows at least once a day. Our bronchiectasis is here to stay and if we don't deal with it , IT deals with us. Hope that helps -- In bronchiectasis , Ad Fong wrote: > > Hi , > > When you say " this " has happened to you many times, I'm assuming you're talking about your volume of mucus increasing even after taking antibiotics, right?
