Hi Dena-

Well, well. In a nutshell - your life is still so very busy. God bless you for

all you do.

Thank you for the updates. I think of often and wonder how he is doing.

It does seem he has come a long way. Too bad, in a sense, no one cut him slack

regarding the F's. I think there is a two fold scenario though. He could have

had a little understanding along the way yet also maybe it's what made his drive

a bit stronger. I am pleased with his progress. :-)

Your dear family is so very fortunate to have you around. A true blessing you

are! I shall continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I know how

very busy one loved one can impact our lives when caregiving - whoa!

I would still loved to have had one of your puppies. It just wasn't in the

cards at this time. I would have been the person to train (in all senses of the

word) the puppy. Plus we have a very spoiled cat that would have to have a

series of kitty prozac pills to let any other furry friend in the house. So, I

guess, sadly, for now, no puppy for us.

I haven't posted much about Ann Arbor lately. Just the dates and where. As we

get closer I will post more. I have some hotels/motels in mind and some ideas

of things to do. Last caregivers gathering everyone arranged their own travel.

I had talked with a hotel in the area (it was in LaCrosse, WI) that there were

several of us coming. We got a reduced rate. They posted " LBD Gathering " on

their sign outdoors. It was nice for public awareness and it confirmed to us

showing up that we were at the right place. It would be great to meet you in

person - made my heart jump when I read you and your husband are planning on

attending. Great news!

Anything written about the caregivers gathering will have " 2008 Gathering " in

the subject line.

Take care Dena. Sending along hugs-

Hi Sandie

Thanks for asking about all the " stuff " in my life.

is doing fairly well in school. He still does a

lot of zoning out. He will just stare out into space

until someone snaps him out of it. His grades are

okay, but not as good as they were. Of course, he had

all F's when he went back after his accident. No one

cut him any slack at all.

My older aunt is still my daily chore. She has been

bleeding and they found a fibroid in her uterus. Not

sure if that is why or not. I will ask Dr. tomorrow as

we have an appointment. She does have a UTI and is on

an antibiotic. Her arthritis is so severe she can

hardly get around. She is still nasty to me at times

and I try to just write it off. The Geriatric Dr. is

very concerned she has called me several times at

home. She believes she is in the beginning stages of

Alzheimer's. I go to her home daily and change her

diapers, I take out her trash, get her mail, bring her

lunch, wash clothes, do all the banking and bill

paying and soon I will be taking on the watering again

too. She was never married and wants it all done her

way NOW!

My uncle continues to rely on me more and more now

too. I have taken him to several Dr. appts lately. And

I make him dinner at least twice a week.

My younger aunt is recovering nicely. She does not

have to have chemo as of now, but will probably have

to do in a few years. They removed a fibroid the size

of a football from her ovary, but in that process

found she hat Lymphoma. The two were not related.

The puppies that are left are becoming a real

challenge. They will be 11 weeks tomorrow. One is a

" holly terror " He is not pet material. He needs to be

in a home where they will work him. My son is already

doing that. He would rather bite you than get petted.

He is just nasty. No other way to put it. It is in his

genes. But it you need a great police or protection

dog he is your dog.

Let me know more about Ann Arbor when you get a

chance. Are we to get our own flight and hotel? I

believe my husband and I are going. We are going to

rent a car and visit some relative in Illinois too.

Dena-

That's how I understood 's school situation. I just don't understand why

the school wouldn't help him along. He is obviously a good kid and did well

before the accident. Maybe it did sort of push him along to excell and show the

school a thing or two.

Great news for your hubby, and for you. Congrats on 30 years of service! A

dear friend's (have known her for 30 years, whoa!!) hubby just retired from the

Post Office. A surprise celebration for him on the 15th. Great accomplishment

staying in a position for 30 years.

Take care Dena.

Many hugs to you-

Hi Sandie

Just one thing I think I did not make clear. did

not have all F's until he was out for 6 weeks with his

head injury. As he was unable to do any classroom

work. Heck, we just wanted the kid to live let alone

do his homework! So when he returned after

Thanksgiving he had all F's in all of his classes.

Teachers did not cut him any slack at all.

One more little tidbit of news. My husband is retiring

today after 30 years with Verizon. Happy Days are here

Again!!!
