Guest guest
sorry to hear this Roe, it seems a lawyer could get access to the place to at least do mycotoxin testing. I would diffently send that puece of sheetrock somewhere for mycoton testing, the problem would be proveing it came from the same place you were exposed. It is a shame that it's not more reconized that chances are that if a mold is detected thats know to produce nycotoxins,it probably has at one point or another and yes, you'd think that haveing the illness that exposure causes what be a pretty good clue. if you have mold allergies socumented than you have even more proof if you can put together some info. from that view point it might help. if you presented it in a way that shows that allergy testing not only shows allergic reactions from a allergen but also chemicals/toxin reactions (that are also termed as a allergic reaction)and that high dose exposures can cause allergies, than maybe at least they well have to reconize that your exposure did cause some health problems. after all severe allergies can lead to anaphalaxis and you are going to have to avoid mold the resy of your life. hang in there. Guest guest
Unfortunately you need proof in court. You should have taken photos of the mold and when you left the condition of the apartment. I am not sure if the sample would be too late to send to have tested. Since you have an actual piece that would be better than a tape test I believe, but someone can correct if I am wrong. But usually you need documention of when you took the sample, a witness which could maybe be your husband or who you lived with. I know it is hard, but these people in the courts are ruthless and also can have evidence thrown out sometimes. It is a hard lesson but at the same time many times we move into another dangerous situation. I have had many moldy places. I guess many people do but until they become sick they might not even know about mold and the dangers. But every situation is a learning experience. They know more than they did when I first became ill so maybe someone else can suggest something. If you have some receipts I would get what ever you have together. Who did testing with swabs. Bless you. - they did testing with swabs. > > > i have a piece of the sheet rock that is covered in mold from where > her bathroom was leaking for 2 years. > > its beem om a zip lock bag for 4 months now. do you think if i did a > tape test and sent it out that it might come back with something or is > it just to old. > >
Guest guest
If you videotaped a sample being collected (with time and date) and then continued the videotape without any interruption all the way to the mailbox, and showed it being dropped in, you might be able to have that sample be admitted in court. Does anybody have any idea on this? I tried to do this with some of the later samples that I sent to TTUHSC (most of which never got mycotoxin tested..but they were probably simlar to the earlier ones, which were " toxic " .). The videotapes would be funny if I wasn't so sick at the time. We were desperate because otherwise, each time we collected a new sample we would have had to hire somebody (typical cost $500) Alternatively, maybe a notary could collect the sample and send them in. Or a " disinterested third party " (so it can't be a spouse) This is an IMPORTANt issue because they keep raising the bar higher and higher.. (to price working people out of the process, it seems.)
