Guest guest
Hi all, Well, after getting home from the CG meeting and resting for a day, I got busy packing and went back to WI for my 50 year class reunion. Haven't done that for 25 years. How things change and yet stay the same. It is a 12 hour drive for me. Going I spent the night at my son's house in upper MI. I finished the trip the next day. The Reunion was ok and saw a lot of people, I started to say friends, but only saw a few friends that I have kept in touch with over the years. The thing that so stood out for me was as I was coming into our small town, the cemetery was right on the way. I stopped. My Dad died in '83 and because my brother had died earlier, I believe my Dad planted the Pine tree that has stood there ever since. It has been growing and getting bigger every year. This time when I stopped was the second time since Mom died 6 years ago. I was dumbstruck. I didn't see anything except the two perfect tops on the tree. It has never has 2 tops or even the hint of two that I can remember. I am going to check other photos we have of it. Only Dad could send a message like that. He loved trees. As usual, I saw bears all the way home and back. Streets named Bear Ave., a huge granite Bear, a baseball team who were called the Bears and on and on. I laughed all the way to the motel. Godincidents as Sandie would call it. Most of the Reunion was designed for walking people for some reason. I just knew enough not to go further than I could. The dinner was delightful. When we went pontoon boating I thought I was all set. At last a sitting activity. It was delightful and beautiful.. It would have helped being a bit shorter time. My skin is very pink.!! I don't think I have been out in the sun that long is some time. Got to visit other family and friends for a bit. I forget how slow time passes in a small town vs. the city. I did do a slow trip back and had very good travel until I got 1/3 of the way down the state. Then the construction and traffic got rather bad. The short rainstorm didn't help. Yesterday I unpacked some, slept, ate, read email, slept, read the regular mail, & slept. Now it is time to get moving and talk to others who might not know I am home for the winter!!! That was surly enough travel for me. Got other things to do and people to see. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. My mother and LBD I am new to this so any help would be grateful. My mom was diagnosed with LBD about 4 years ago. Things were going fairly well until 8 months ago. Her bowels got inpacted and she had a bladder infection. We went to the ER and the DR. didn't even understand what LBD was. Her DR. finally got her straightened outwith that problem then dad got sick and we had to put in respite care for a week (didn't work out). She has been going down hill every since. She is barely able to walk unassisted and is falling alot. Her legs don't want to move so now we have her in a wheelchair. My dad is the main caregiver and I know it is hard on him. Sometimes he gets impatiant with her and now she just wants me to do for her. One problem she has is that she is very sensitive to touch, has anyone else had this problem, so she is always complaining that we are hurting her. I don't know what to do! It is getting harder and harder. The Drs. just check her out every 3 months and say there's nothing else that can be done. What are we to do Thank you for listening If there is anyone in the ton or Summerville SC area who I could communicate I would like that.
