Mold and stucco

My friend is moving into a condo this weekend. The garage smells

strongly of mold. When one looks above the garage the paint on the

outside stucco is faded in an irregular pattern along the bottom where

the bathroom and kitchen are positioned inside. Can water leaks grow

mold between the exterior stucco and inside wall? Does that faded

pattern sometimes indicate water leaks inside the stucco? Can she get

out of a six month lease if she learns that there has been water

damage not disclosed to her at the signing?

Thanks for the input.

I have read repeatedly that stucco often has mold issues.

The building that I got really sick in had stucco facing.

Synthetic or natural stucco?

If synthetic stucco, Google " dryvit lawsuit "

Not only can synthetic stucco grow mold if it leaks, it can rot the

frame of the house.
