Guest guest
Oboy, group, do I have a product for you! Found it at my local low-carb store...it's called " Twist " and it's a sugar free, low-carb hazelnut chocolate spread. It's gooey, sweet, brown, and tastes like the Real Thing. It has 2 carbs and 14.2 grams fat, no calories per two tablespoons. I mixed 1 T. with 1/4 c. (62 gm.) low-fat ricotta, which has 2 grams carbs, 6 grams fat, and it looks and tastes like real chocolate pudding! (use 1 T. of the spread which is only 7.1 grams fat). I don't know if they have it on the low-carb website but they have their own website (listed on bottle). URL is www,twist4kids.com No connection, of course...just a Happy Diabetic Sweet-Eater. LC chocolate + ricotta does sound terrific. Carol T

However, I can say it didn't impact my BG...and one tablespoon goes a long way! V. PS: You might try asking them at their website (I gave address)..haven't checked site yet but they must have an email address on it... Guest guest
Carol, Where do you live? I am in South Florida (the low carb capital of the world). I bought out the store and distributed a few jars at work. (Everyone is low carb there too.)The combo of ricotta cheese sounds great, Vicki. Thanks for the tip. As a kid, seeing the family diabetes, I weaned myself from sweets (except for ice cream). Even some of the artificial sweeteners are caloric. And many of the " sugar-free " products on the shelves just have a different type of sweetener in them. Susie
