Guest guest
Last night after Mom was in bed and I was in the living room trying to get other things done, I heard her saying something in the bedroom and heard some strange noises. As I entered the bedroom she was laying on her back, without the blankets, and it seemed that her arms and legs were spasming and hitting the bed repeatedly. Her outer pants were pulled down and her panties looked like she tried to pull them down some. She was rambling that she was going to the bathroom and she couldn't get her pants down in time. I had to wake her up some to have her calm down. she had wet the bed, which wasn't a problem for me, but I am wondering if she was having one of the dreams where she isn't paralyzed from moving, or if this was some sort of a seizure or something. She is quiet today and her head still doesn't want to stand up straight, and still won't drink because she'll have to use the bathroom and won't eat because she says she is full. I am hoping that she is just having 'bad attitude' behavior. They had someone check out her chewing and swallowing at the hospital, so I don't think that is the problem with eating and drinking. Anyone experienced with this stuff?
Guest guest
Millie lost nerve impulses for appetite near the end. We could have tried to prolong her life with heroics, but we knew there was no real quality of life at the end of tubes. The end came so fast in that we abruptly were on a huge rapid decline that we couldn't anticipate. it just all turned to mush in a matter of days. Millie was never incontinent. She could always let us know she had to go and we wrestled her onto the commode. During the last round of wrestle-mania she threw a clot in her leg and then had severe pain. By then we were desperate for the drugs that would take her painlessly the rest of the way. I sent out the SOS right from my lalptop at Hospice. I would have rented a lwptop to remain connected with this group. They were my lifeline. Not to say your LO is near the end, but the last sharp turn really snuck up on us. Prayers for you, Carol --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.
Guest guest
She hasn't had a repeat performance but still bearly eats anything or drinks. I keep telling her that she will have to go back to the hospital for IV and feeding tube. She has severe spasms since that one dose of Zyprexa. Although I know she will be better off some day, it is so hard to accept what is happening. She has told me before that she just wishes she were dead. I know that she knows inside what she is living and this isn't how she wants to be living. I can only hope that this medication gets out of her system and she gets back to where she was two weeks ago...just so I can hold on to her longer. > > Millie lost nerve impulses for appetite near the end.
