Guest guest
Dr.Phil talked a little about PTSD today. the kind onvolved with a tramatic experience where a certain smell can triger you to relive the trauma. I just have to say that theres a hudge difference in this PTSD of this type and toxic brain injury damageing the hippocampus. there is alot of time surrounding the worst part of my exposure thats blank but a few months later I was haveing incontrolled past memories intrusion but they were not of my exposure they were just a jumbled mess of memories and interfered with my thought process and ofcorse this caused me to have problems talking and words coming out that had nothing to do with what I was saying, and switching subjects in the middle of talking. the intrudeing thoughts/memories changed from being like a bad rollorcoaster ride of never ending memories to not something so obvious to me pretty quick but it still afected my talking for a few years as in talking about something, haveing a intrusive thought, and haveing it change the subject that I was talking about to wear people noticed that I just changed subjucts in the middle of a sentence. or answered a question and my answer had nothing to do with the question. I dont think that this was constant and would like to say I reconized when ut happen everytime but I cant say for sure, it's kind of hard to explain. I fell the distraction problems I have now are still part of that damage but I've learned to work around certain problems to some extent anyway. kind of nervous about whats on my scans but cany really comment because I'm no expert on reading them. on the readouts of the frontals and the hippocampus, left and right, the left hippocampus does not peak like the right or the left and right frontals. I'm thinking thats not good. the left hippocampus is thought to play a role in PTSD. have it severly damaged by a closed head toxic brain injury is different. the olfactory tracts go to the limbic system theres obvious damage all along that route. and more. while I'm no expert on reading these scans, what I live with, the sinuses, eyes, ears and in the brain speaks volumes. if things dont start changeing quick it seem to me that PEOPLE THAT BREATH ARE FACEING SERIOUS PROBLEMS IN THE NEAR FUTURE!
