Guest guest
I don't know how many people here are familiar with Dr. Shoemaker's biotoxin protocol, but I have some questions for those who are. 1. I get a definite cytokine intensification response when I take even a small amount of CSM. This is discussed in detail in " Desperation Medicine. " Does this kind of response occur with mold as well as lyme? I know mold is an issue for me and am practicing " semi- extreme " avoidance, which has helped a great deal. I'm not sure whether lyme is an issue, since testing for live lyme is pretty problematic. If lyme is an issue though, perhaps I should be treating it with antibiotics before commencing the csm. What do you think? 2. Due to the intensification response I'm getting from CSM, it sounds like Actos would be a good idea to try. Dr. Shoemaker says that it is recommended for only 10 days of use (five days before the csm is started and then another five days), though it can be taken for longer. My sensitivity is such that I suspect that (if I can tolerate it) I will need to take csm for months or years in order for it to reach its maximum effectiveness. Can/should I take Actos for that long? 3. What kinds of side effects (other than blood sugar issues) have people here had to Actos? My sensitivity to prescription drugs tends to be high. 4. Dr. Beth Short-Ray (a D.O. specializing in mold) suggests brown seaweed and zeolite as substitutes for CSM. Does anyone have experience with these or know anything about them for treatment of mold issues? 5. Is there a reason that Dr. Shoemaker specifies four teaspoons of CSM per day? Would a lower amount (e.g. 1/4 teaspoon taken four times a day) be at all useful? I've yet to take more than 1 teaspoon total per day, and my intensification reaction and constipation just on that much has been really high. Taking four times as much seems like it would be very difficult for me. (If I do need to take more, does anyone have any helpful hints about how to make that more successful?) 6. Do people with high sensitivity to poison mold tend to have any success in getting this to go down as a result of any of these detoxification treatments? My sensitivity is very high....I react strongly not only to moldy structures, but also to all items that have been stored in these structures and to " plumes " of mold spores outdoors. I feel quite good if I am scrupulous with avoidance (and not using CSM), but I collapse fast with exposures. I don't expect to ever be able to be around much toxic mold, but not being quite as sensitive to it would open up a lot more " life options " for me. Thanks much for your help.
