Guest guest
People who visit these lists often don't understand that increasingly, there is a serious disconnect between the world of research and the world as depicted in the media and on the Internet, including Internet mailing lists like those at Health. They are increasingly viewed by many as fertile ground for disinformation and marketing efforts. The best way to find the answers to important questions out is to do your own 'research' - and by that I mean search the databases like PubMed (which is a HUGE database of hundreds of thousands of medical and other scientific papers that is FREE and available to everybody.. The URL is http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez ) In order to get a realistic picture of what is going on, you often need to look for information that is relevant to your own situation YOURSELF. Vested interests rule on the Internet and they are often actively working to squelch information that might not say what they want it to, even here. This (preliminary PDF below) looks as if it represents a useful research resource. The title is: Finding toxicological information: an approach for occupational health professionals http://www.occup-med.com/content/pdf/1745-6673-3-18.pdf
