Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am glad that I can write to such a group of parents. My son is almost 3 and has Autism. We’ve on biomed for about 6 mo now, but I am still confused with some things. I thought someone might be able to help me clarify them or at least share with me experiences. These are my worries/questions: Is a MRI safe? Why should we want to get an MRI? We are in a waiting list to get that done, but I am scared to death about the anesthesia. We started the antifungal two days ago. It took us long enough to reach this point. He is very hyper (ADHD type), severe speech delay, has lots of food allergies and intolerances (he also seems not to process very well foods high in phenols) and has a rash/eczema around his lips most of the time. His microbiology test did not show a lot of yeast or bad bacteria, but we still have him on a GF/CF-Yeast free and recently starting the SDC diet. My instincts tell me that he might have an issue with bacteria/yeast/virus. This year he has had two genital infections, and yesterday, after we started the antifungal I saw the redness coming back to the genitals. I read that is not good to use any topic cream, so what can I used. Before we had used Nystatin, but as you can read it keeps coming back. My son was getting the B-12 shots before we started the antifungal, but I decided to stopped them because after the first shot he had a very bad reaction. He was very agitated, anxious, hyper and he can got frustrated very easily. He was always throwing himself to the floor. But since I do believed in the B-12 I waited a week and try again. This time was completely different. He did not had any reaction. He started to babble a lot and using the few words that he has. Have you use B-12 along with antifungals? How often?. I have never heard before about OLE or LDN. How can I get this? How can I know which might be the best (better fit) for my son? Does these can cause a regression of some sort? I am experiencing regression now that my son just finished the first part of the antifungal therapy. My pediatritian told me that she can not gave run the test for viruses, what can I do if my Dan wants to wait (I really can not wait). Digestive Enzymes had been a blessing, but I think we reach the point where there is no difference any more and my son is still on diarrhea one day or another. It is interesting, before we start the diet or we knew about autism he always had a normal BM. Everything ended with the diet. His BM are always yellow, lately with less indigested food and very pasty (sorry for all the description, but I bet that most of you look at your owns children BM to see if there is a clue). Do you think that Houston Enzymes might offers something different? I’d been using Klaire’s Lab. What does this yellow-pasty stools might tells us? Does somebody know about The Thoughtful House (in Austin)? Does anybody has experience with them? Can we start the antiviral after antifungal, right before metal detox? What are the test that we should run before doing this and what happen if the test come back negative? Does anyone has experience using Taurine as a supplement? Have you use Valtrex or any other antiviral along with antifungals, or antivirals along with B12 shots. I really hope to get your input about these issues. Thanks so much to everyone!
