Mold Is Discovered At Another YISD School

EL PASO, Texas -- Mold is discovered inside another YISD school, Del

Valle High School. A few weeks ago, a custodian discovered mold

inside a mechanical room. District officials said the good thing is

that the mold is confined to that area only.

YISD spokeswoman Ayalla said the mechanical room is an area

that is closed off. Neither students nor employees have access to

that room. The custodians make regular checks of the area and they

found the mold during one of those checks.

The district has called an abatement company to take care of the

issue next week. " It's under control. We're taking aggressive

measures to make sure that there's no mold and the safety and well

being of our students is taken care of, " said Ayalla.

Ayalla said schools are evaluated twice a year for mold.
