Guest guest
There is an article in today's New York Times about veterans and traumatic brain injury.. Many of their problems sound familiar. Guest guest
I'm glad that it's starting to get realized just how much brain damage can affect peoples lives. I cane across a link where people had posted about haveing fibromyalgia and brain scan showing UBO's (brain lesions) and their doctors saying it was nothing and had nothing to do with their fibromyalgia. when are these doc's going to it the word that their wrong? > > Axonal injury,a neglected cause of damage in bacterial meningitis > > http://www.neurology.org/cgi/content/abstract/62/3/509 > > > > Axonal damage:a key predictor of outcome in human CNS diseases. > > http://brain.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/126/3/515 > > > > _ >
Guest guest
Doctors almost never admit they WERE wrong. The most we can hope for is changes with diagnoses of new patients. Guest guest
to diagnose, they need to know what tests to do and when to do them. intermitten symptoms vs. permenant damage, ect. I went to a ENT that couldn't read a 3D cat scan done while I was suffering migrane and encephaloceles or reaccuring cysts were shown in my sinuses. the only thing this can be is csf under the tissue from csf leaks, as far as I can gather. I complained about my lungs too at that time but didn't get a lung scan, it probably would have showed inflammation. ideally the right tests should be done while still being exposed or asap afterwards to siagnose effects and later on both while suffereing effects caused by a exposure and without to show internitten effects and again after treatment to deturmine any possable permanent damage that not all well suffer. the mri/spectrometry is possably more for ruling out other brain problems. and also for looking at the frontal lobes and the hypothalamus and brain lesions(brain lesions in certain areas are a clue to bbb breakdown and vessel leaks(possable demyelination and verve damage) and csf leaks/damage. these dont show transporter/receptor dysfunctions because of demyelination, thats where blood test come in of MSH,VIP,PAI-1,OSMO,VEGF,HLA AND OTHER TESTS can show transporter dysfunction results. from what I've read verve endings can repair theirself until they get to a certain point.
