DSM-5 Urgent Call for Public Comments

The proposed changes to the DSM-5 criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorders may

prove to have a devastating effect in our community and we encourage all of you

to send your comments to the DSM-5 Working Group. Unfortunately, the website to

submit comments isn't working (as of today, May 10th), during the final and most

important period to allow for public comment. The APA is aware of the problems

with their website, but does not know when it will be fixed, so they are

allowing people to send comments by emailing them to

dsm5@...<mhtml:{D13AA262-ED25-401F-AE74-C117809C1613}mid://00069266/!x-usc\

:mailto:dsm5@...>.

Please put Autism or ASD in your subject line.

Public comment is open through June 15th, so comment as many times as you wish.

WE URGE YOU ALL TO E-MAIL THE DSM-5 COMMITTEE YOUR COMMENTS TODAY!

If you already submitted them through the website, they may not have gotten to

the DSM-5 Working Group, so please send them again to

dsm5@...<mhtml:{D13AA262-ED25-401F-AE74-C117809C1613}mid://00069266/!x-usc\

:mailto:dsm5@...>.
