Guest guest
Alison, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this information - that is exactly what I needed. I'm drafting the letter right now, actually, that each of us can personalize and send to our representatives, asking them to support the bill and get it out of committee - using the info you posted I found there is a bill in both in the House AND the Senate. If each of us and our spouses, our babies' grandparents and our friends send in a letter this week, maybe we can actually do something here? Guest guest
I think you are on the right track. My mom just sent me something similar for women who have a mastectomy - it would require a 2 day hospital stay to help women recoup. It is sponsered my Lifetime TV - Maybe we could get TLC or Discovery Health or some other media group to help sponser and get the word out there. Just a thought! Jen Mommy to 4...and 1 more!!!! Guest guest
Hi! My name is McBride. Recently the Asbury Park Press (New Jersey) did a story on my family as we fell prey to Stachybotry's. We all suffered a host of illness's from memory loss, tremors, tooth loss, nausea, growths, fatigue, sleeplessness, shin problems, etc. We also lost our cat named Cuddles. We rented and with no money were trapped in this chamber of horrors with no way to escape. Every agency could not or would not help. Both state and county Board of Health departments stated no laws, authority, or do they possess the capabilities to even test for this. I called every agency in the state. We lost everything, but most importantly it is our health that I am concerned about. Due to this I began working with the legislature. During the crisis I contacted Senator Kean's office and they even made calls to the local town inspector who was just brushing me off and even lying. After that call and a call made by my doctor, the town finally closed the house. However this took some doing. However knowing that we are not alone, I began doing much research and have spoken with the Senator's office and already have two pieces a legislation being co-sponsored by a few. This would be to mandate mold disclosure by home owners. Much more needs to be done. I wish to produce Bills which would mandate testing and remediation (professionally) if mold suspected. Insurance reform and regulation as far as disposal of contaminated items is also needed. I have received emails with stories and support for this and would like more. I have a meeting scheduled later this month with another legislator who sits on the NJ Health Commission and would like to bring as much information and support as possible. If anyone wishes to join me in this, or any suggestions, please contact me via email (johnmcbride333@... or moldleg333@...) or after 7pm eastern time at 908-627-0784. This has been going on far far too long! We all need this done!
