I showed the bottle of Methyl Mate to my DAN and he said don't use it. If I recall, it didn't have purity info or dosing info on the bottle. He also didn't like that it was created for sublingual use but being touted for nasal use.C Hi Kwin from Sue, MB 12 >Methyl-Mate is found athttp://www.nbnus.net/shopexd.asp?id=338 is shown sublingual but -----You can also request to havethem ------send you a ------spray applicator...to use it as a NASAL spray. There is a spot in the order form for requests. Note: a measured "spray" is about 500 mcgs..of Methyl -Mate ---And a "spray" my compounded formula measured spray is 1250 mcgs.. of MB12. Here's another website for another -- less expensive MB12.that Gabby found...http://www.vitacost.com/Pure-Advantage-B-12I have not used that one yet...since we like the compounded version WITH the folinic acid per muscle testing..Either type above-- you--- would need to use 2- 1/2 TIMES (squirts) as much as Methyl- Mate or the second link-------as OUR compounded formula ( STAN's origanal dosage )to achieve the same dosage, ( Verified by our pharmacist and New Beginnings). Also... Methyl - Mate is Methycolbalamin ..whereas mycompounded version ALSO has 300 mcg's of Folinic acid ,too. For some folinic acid may cause hyperactivity so in that caseyou can use Methyl - Mate and add Folapro later..as tolerated. Compounded versions have NO PRESERVATIVES.. but METHYL- MATE Does.Sometimes that can be an advantage IF your child is not reactive to the preservative. For example it has a longer shelf life and does NOT have to be refrigerated..MY compounded version does NEED refrigeration AND it's only filled 1/3rd full. I pay 35.00 per order..Shipped FREE of charge--- but I have to pay shipping on Methyl-Mate.. but Methyl - Mate is FILLED to the top of the bottle:))So it turns out--even while needing 2 1/2 times the amt ..to get equivalency..to my prescription..I end up using the bottles about the same time. We get Methyl- mate for vacations since it doesn't need to be cold.. and sometimesmy husband gets an irritated throat from the spray.. so then he uses sublingual for a short time. Hope that helps,Sue Hope that helps,Sue7b.14.mb12 nasal spray - where to buyPosted by: "annkwin" annkwin@... annkwinThu Oct 30, 2008 8:24 am (PDT)hi is there any way I can buy mb12 nasal spray via internet or it needs prescription, I live in aust they don't seem to know about that medicine I haven't ask though. Hi C from Sue,

Thanks for the feedback from your DAN.. :)

Like I mentioned --We still prefer the Compounded version of 1250 mcg.of methylcobalamin and 300 mcg. of folinic acid...and use that 95% of the time.

But since it's hard to get in OTHER countries...like Kwin's... --the online ones are often better than none at all.

( BTW-- I have muscle tested Methyl-Mate to be SAFE and effective as a nasal spray ---but not as strong as the compounded version.)

Plus we need the folinic acid... so others would have to get the equivalent to that ---separately....

-----( I've also heard good results from people in this group using the Methyl -Mate..)

The conversions below came from the pharmacist I get our compounded version from.

( He didn't have to do it as it would take away his business.. but was nice to help me convert for accuracy.)

You'll also note the second link --IS sold as a spray. But again it is weaker than the compounded version.

500 mcg per squirt...so you'd have to use 2 1/2 times more than the prescription type...just like Methyl-Mate's strength..

When I showed my DAN doctor the info on Methyl-Mate... He didn't say anything negative.

( Of course--- if one is sensitive to the preservative.. you should avoid the online ones.)

Just trying to give ---options for those that can't get the prescription type....:

Hope that helps,

Sue
