Guest guest
The link took me to a page that is no longer available....However I did find on their Testing Information page the following: The NTP is an interagency program whose mission is to evaluate agents of public health concern by developing and applying the tools of modern toxicology and molecular biology. This involves conducting toxicological evaluations of substances of public health concern, developing and validating improved (sensitive, specific, rapid) testing methods, developing approaches and generating data to strengthen the science base for risk assessment, and communicating with all stakeholders. The NTP plays a critical role in providing needed scientific data, interpretations, and guidance concerning the appropriate uses of data to regulatory agencies and other groups involved with health-related research. Through its interactive relationship with regulatory agencies, the NTP plays an indirect, but important role in shaping public health policy. Their entire statement is a public alarm! Now lets pick out KEY Words, shall we? 1. " evaluate " agents of public health concern (I'm curious as to when and what their last poject was) 1. developing approaches (think tank)? 2. " generating data " to " strengthen the science base " for " risk " assessment (who's risk)? 3. communicating with all " stakeholders " (oh, we already know about stakeholders risk, - cheaper for us to burden the Fed. Gov. then to make the " stakeholders responsible " ) 4. " providing needed scientific data, interpretations, and guidance concerning the appropriate uses of data " to regulatory agencies " and other groups " (other groups, well now, could that be...the stakeholders? 5. important role in " shaping " public health " policy " (sounds a bit like......protecting stakeholders)? Just My Opinion, I could be wrong???? > > http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/index.cfm?objectid=E87C97EA-BDB5-82F8- > FD910822DBADB831 >
Guest guest
Thanks who! I was able to to access the page... Looks like a great amount of work went into this page. I will read it, but I can still say that their opening introduction reads just as I precieved it. If my perception is wrong, I appologize. We can blame it on my Chemically Poisened Brain. I will be spending some time trying to understand the info located at the - Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB) - Comprehensive, peer- reviewed toxicology data for about 5,000 chemicals. http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?HSDB > > http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/index.cfm?objectid=E87C97EA-BDB5-82F8- > FD910822DBADB831 >
