Guest guest
, Its good that you are feeling better. There really isn't a lot of reliable information for people out there. There really is a need for a reference for people where doctors and patients like you and me can share their experiences and what has worked for us and them.. Have you ever heard the term comorbidity? Basically, it means that once you are sickened by one thing, like mold exposure in a water damaged building.. often, that weakened state makes us much more prone to what are called " opportunistic infections " that come in and make us even sicker. See Wikipedia.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opportunistic_infection Mold comes into the picture in many ways.. You know, its extremely complicated and no single human being is smart enough to understand it all, but we do know more and more all the time.. Ever since they discovered that penicillin kills bacteria an ever increasing number of the specific examples of the millions of mold toxins have been known to act against various kinds of life..in many, many ways.. Millions of years of evolution taught fungi how to do this.. Its becoming increasingly obvious to me that mold causes immunosuppression.. for example.. in addition to mycotic infections (the ones that would respond to antifungals - which would kill fungal hyphae growing in someone's body - there are literally thousands of different kinds of fungal infection that can happen.. things like candidaisis, aspergillosis, etc.) and toxicity (which might respond to cholestyramine and other therapies to push down the inflammation..)
