Guest guest
My husband passed away this morning sometime between 6:30 AM when I got up, and 8:30 AM when I decided he couldn't wait any longer to get his first medications of the day. He actively lived his life right to the end, not surrendering to Parkinsonism, the loss of his drivers license or dementia. He insisted on going to the DOT Saturday to pick up driver's manuals, and placed calls to his financial advisor. Many of you know he fell and broke his nose and C1 & C2 vertebrae in March, survived neurosurgery, fell and broke his nose again in May. He's been home with caregivers since the hospitalization, and we recently joined hospice, as he began losing weight. He's struggled through several UTIs, and severe constipation lately, but never gave up the effort to control his life, despite the increasing challenges he faced. I still haven't digested this loss. Kathy, 60 year old wife of 83 year old who was diagnosed with PD about 1991. Retrospectively, LBD symptoms were apparent from 2000, if not earlier. LBD first diagnosed January of 2007.
