Guest guest
Thats opposite of me-- I feel better in the warm temps, even though I grew up in Western Washington State. I was born in Seattle at Ballard. -- Re: Re: Another question Hi it does get worse in hot weather ,,, cold makes it feel better then heat ... Guest guest
My friends, I need to consult with some of you who have had your LO with LBD the longest time. One of our sons is an airline pilot and we've enjoyed the benefits in flying almost for nothing -Sherman and I. Now this son, his German wife of more than 2 years and their little 18 months girl are going to have a celebration of their marriage in Germany on the 2nd of August with her family and friends from there (they didn't want anything done here when they got married). I'm ready to go, waiting for one of my husband's sisters to let me know if she thinks she'd be able to take care of him in my absence. He's not been doing too well lately, a little confused and weak, and I let her know of his condition (by the way, I didn't give him the Provigil today and he did better -and thanks a lot for the answers that I got). My question is, how many of you have had the experience of going away from your LO, especially a husband, for several days? I'll be away for about 9 days. If that has happened, what was the reaction of the LBD patient at your absence? Did he/she get worse for missing you? I'll be waiting for your answer. Love, Raquel (If it wasn't for this special occasion, I'd be there at that LBD conference (symposium?)
Guest guest
Donna great advice :) A trial-run... > > Raquel,, > > I put my Mom in respite for a week (7 days) But I did see her during the week. She happen to like it which surprised me. She did ok. And they were very good to her. She really liked the food so missed me not very much. Guest guest
cindy, applejuice apple sauce etc are good things for him to eat/drink to help stabliize bowel movements, plum juice and prune juice, i dont like prunes, but the plum juice is so good. i also take magnesium oxide, and that helps some. the spice ginger is also good for motivating bowels, like ginger snaps, molasses, gingerbread, or even graham crackers can help, as well. about your job, is there any way your mom can hire or you hire for her some help, call teh council of aging and also teh elders affairs office, they are both in their new physical year and have federal programs that your parents may qualify for to get help and necessary supplies. both of those organizatoins helped me out a great deal. try to keep your job as long as you dont get overrun. you need the escape for as long as possible but dont sacrifice your health and get rundown trying to keep it, just more or less thinking out loud here. take care and hugs. sharon a-m Subject: Re: Another question To: LBDcaregivers Date: Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 3:16 PM Mother takes magnesuim oxide- 3 - 400 mg pills a day(crush into applesauce or ?. Guest guest
Raquel, There are respite programs available for caregivers to get a break and have their lo put in a nh or alf for up to 2 weeks or more if emergency for it. and this resourse is great. as for daddy, he didnt do well when donnie was gone, he would feel threatenened and unhappy without him. but as for me, he would panic if i wasnt home the exact time i said i would be, like if i said i would be home sunday at 4pm, at 4.00pm if i wasnt walking in the door he would start a panic attack. so we learned to add time to my promise like if i knew i would be home at 4pm on sunday i would tell daddy an hour later or a day later so i would be coming home ealry instead of late.. good luck and hugs sharon Subject: Another question To: LBDcaregivers Date: Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 5:38 AM My friends, I need to consult with some of you who have had your LO with LBD the longest time.
