I love the google alerts! I have daily alerts for LBD, my business name,

and my online nickname that I've used since the early 90's...that way I can

see if anybody is talking about me - hahaha! But I also get " free " fodder

for my own advertising when I read what people are writing about my products

on the boards...but back to LBD, I have found that people are abusing the

google alerts by intentionally getting spam on them - which rather spoils it

for me - but there are a lot of things that I would otherwise miss.
