Guest guest
Well we made some progress yesterday (Mon) in figuring out some of mom's problems. Her falling over episodes are attributed to her sleeping pills (Temazepam) which had been upped from 15mg to 30mg---side effects include vertigo and dizziness so Hospice went back to 15mg--we'll see if that helps. As for her bones hurting,Hospice still says it's arthritis but gave her Vicodin which seems to work quite well for now--we'll see.Anyway again thanks for all of your concern and help.--

Guest guest
, I don't know if you want to try it or not, or even if it will help, but I have just started to take Black Cherry pills. I have bad knees and when I heard about these pills, I thought I would try them. I am sure they are taking away a lot of the ache I have. You might want to read about the Black Cherry and their benefits. I did a search and found a lot of information. You could just feed her regular Black Cherries but I wanted the pills. Just a thought. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Mom's new problems This past week my mom (81 & ALZ) has been having severe pains in every bone in her body--so bad that Darvoset won't touch it.She's had arthritis in both knees for many years but nothing like this.Hospice thinks it's mainly arthritis but I wonder----every bone at the same time and pain so severe she almost cries?Dr did prescribe some arthritis pills but it takes about a week to work and might tend to keep her awake which creates a problem as we seem to have just found a formula that she finally sleeps all night so we can only give them in the morning but the pain persists 24-7. Then to add to the fun she has also developed a balance problem---she'll be sitting on the side of her bed and suddenly fall over backward or sideways---Hospice thinks inner ear infection--told me to give her 25mg Antivert 2x daily--that promtly puts her to sleep. What's going to happen with the arthritis pills keeping her awake and the Antivert putting her to sleep? I am wondering if anybody has any ideas as to what might be causing these problems and about the different side effects of the pills? Thanks----
