JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Two days after Tropical Storm Fay flooded their

Nassau County home, Ronnie and were ripping out the

drywalls. Mold was everywhere.

" We couldn't leave it, mold was climbing up the walls, " Ronnie

said.

The s are still in shock.

says, " This has destroyed my home. " Crews is

with Skyetc, an Environmental Solutions company.

" It only takes 24-hours for mold to develop, " says Crews. Crews took

On Your Side to a restoration training house to show us

the problem. After soaking a wall with water, a company analyst used

an infrared camera and a moisture meter to show how quickly moisture

builds up in a home.

In a flooded house like the s, it is even worse. Crews says if

your home gets flooded, get it dried out as quickly as possible.

" If it is small area, use a detergent to clean it, " says Crews. Crews

says if the mold covers more than one square feet, seal of the area

with plastic sheeting and call in a certified expert.

It is difficult to prevent a flood like what happened with the

s, but crews say there are things you can do to prevent mold

from creeping into your home.

Crews says, " Make sure windows and doors are well-caulked and avoid

water ponding near your patio and entry ways. "
