Non-toxic mold solutions: Chemicals and Carpet?

My landlord wants to fix this asap, which is good, but i am afraid he is going

to do it with the first available contractor without regard for toxic effects.

He is aware that a mold specialist is probably needed. My concern is what are

the choices for the least toxic solution. I see that hazards as using chemical

treatments on wood and cemnet, and the new carpeting. I know there are non-toxic

carpet alternatives, but i don't know how much more they cost. I may move

anyway, but he may want to fix this well before i can move so is still want to

have a say in it. Please, if anyone can tell me about some of the best chemical

or non-chemical treatments  and non-toxic carpet options, i would appreciate it.
