Guest guest
I had a car that had a moldy smell in it. The dealer changed out the air system filter and the smell went away. Another car required some sort of chemical treatment to kill the mold. > Has anyone had any experience with a car with air quality issues? > I bought a used car (2008) that has some kind of air quality problem > (mold? or some strange chemical odor ?) Guest guest
>Also consider that it might be VOC's or " new car smell " . I have a new Chevy Impala that refuses to offgas. It was brand new and I've had it for a year and a half. Most of that time I have left the windows open but the car still has what I call a sick, evil bakery smell-like someone is baking really rotten bread. Chevy said that sometimes it takes up to 3 years (!) to offgas. Well, thanks alot Chevy because I can;t drive the car. > Has anyone had any experience with a car with air quality issues? > I bought a used car (2008) that has some kind of air quality problem > (mold? or some strange chemical odor ?) Guest guest
With regard to air quality in a car, I can tell you that my husband and I bought a BRAND NEW RV that was INFESTED with mold. I would HIGHLY recommend you pull the carpet back to check under the padding for MOLD. All it takes is for a window to be left open (just a crack)OR a manufacturer defect (like we experienced) a little rain and humidity...MOLD. I had NO idea that mold could make my family and I SO sick. Now everyone I know thinks I'm paranoid, perhaps I am, but I can tell you I'd rather be paranoid than exposed to mold EVER again. Guest guest
We just bought a somewhat used Focus that has that exact same smell. Even with the ac on, it's detectable. llaci
